Mazda has announced the official pricing list of the 2016 BT-50 range across Australia.

According to the automaker, the cheapest version of the model will be the 2.2 liter single cab-chassis XT 4×2 which is carrying a starting price of 25,570 AUD. The entry-level 4×4 is the 3.2l single cab-chassis XT which will be setting you back for 36,850 AUD. The range-topping 4×2 version is making use of the 3.2 liter engine, connected to the 6-speed automatic transmission, in the XTR version, with a dual-cab, and it costs 43,630 AUD, while the top of the line 4×4 is the 3.2 liter dual-cab GT, 6-speed auto, which has been priced at 53,790 AUD.

In the 4×2 version, the Mazda BT-50 has proven to be a popular vehicle, in the third segment of this year, but in the 4×4 variant, it cannot surpass the Toyota Hilux, the Mitsubishi Triton, the Ford Ranger, the Nissan Navara and the Isuzu D-Max. Changes made to the exterior design for the 2016 model year are modest but the cabin is promising to be revised and to offer a higher-quality feel. A new connectivity system is planned which will have nothing in common with the MZD Connect or with the Ford SYNC 2 and it will also get the rearview camera, radar guided cruise control, lane assist and so on. Two engines are offered on the lineup, the 2.2 liter four-cylinder, producing 118 kW and 385 Nm of torque, along with the 3.2 liter five-cylinder with 147 kW and 470 Nm of torque.
