2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF to cost £22,195 in the U.K. image
The Japanese automaker has decided to open the order books for the MX-5 Miata RF (Retractable Fastback) in the United Kingdom, where its metal roof should do wonders in the country’s famously wet weather.
The first deliveries are scheduled for March 4, 2017 and that should also do wonders for the temperature outside – with pricing starting at 22,195 pounds ($27,430) when using the 1.5-liter four-cylinder, though sales of the base model will actually kick off in May. The first examples on the road will be the 23,095 pounds ($28,545) 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which has 158 hp (118 kW) in the U.K., with all models equipped with this engine here also packing a limited-slip differential. Meanwhile, the 1.5-liter model has 129 horsepower (96 kilowatts).
If the owner chooses the larger mill in the Sport Nav for 25,695 pounds ($31,755), Mazda also throws in Bilstein dampers and a strut brace and the Sport Nav Auto for 27,095 pounds ($33,485) will take care of the automatic transmission option. Just like in the United States, the RF is also available with a Launch Edition using the 2.0-liter, which goes for 28,995 pounds ($35,840) and has been limited to just 500 examples. Options include a Soul Red or Machine Grey and also the limited version comes with a two-tone roof and Recaro seats and Alcantara trim inside.
