A Kentucky Dealership Created a Giant American Flag Out of New Cars


Many car dealerships offer special savings and 4th of July sales events in celebration of Independence Day, however few go to the extent that Kentucky’s Paul Miller Autogroup did over the recent holiday weekend. 

The Lexington, Kentucky-based Ford and Mazda dealership pulled together 123 of its red, white, and blue vehicles to create a gigantic American flag in the center of one of its lots.

The end result is what you see here, which is perfectly visible from high above the ground. The eagle-eyed amongst you will spot the countless Ford Fusion sedans, Mustang fastbacks, Escape and Explorer SUVs, a couple of all-new Mazda Miatas, plus scads of Ford F-series pickup trucks.

The celebratory stunt filled a claimed 22,000 square feet of parking lot space and took seven hours to produce, even with 10 drivers maneuvering the vehicles.

While 4th of July weekend new vehicle sales figures are not yet known, dealers in general do have a positive sales month from June to celebrate. According to GoodCarBadCar, total US new vehicle sales rose last month by 1.4 percent, leading to 8,642,284 sold year to date. Notable hot-selling brands include Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Lincoln, RAM, Scion, and Volvo, which all posted double digit gains through the first six months of 2016.
