The Mazda 6 is a capable, if not a class-leading competitor to the Ford Mondeo, Kia Optima, and Volkswagen Passat. It recently featured on our best used family cars feature, but if the idea of a second-hand car doesn’t appeal to you, we’ve found a considerable discount on a brand new Mazda 6.
Business buyers will love its decent claimed fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The sizable £5023 saving on offer brings the asking price of the 6 to less than £19,000.

The pick-of-the-range 2.2-litre 148bhp diesel engine is plenty powerful enough for everyday use and impressed us with its flexibility.
Claimed CO2 emissions of 108g/km and 67.3mpg mean the Mazda 6’s running costs are among the best in its class.
SE-L trim is our favourite; sportier 6 models can be unreasonably expensive, while the SE-L’s front and rear parking sensors, automatic wipers and lights, air-con and 7in touchscreen infotainment system represent the best value, particularly with this deal.
The main reason why the Mazda 6 isn’t the class leader is its ride. Mazda pitches the 6 with rather sporty intentions, but this just means that the ride is too firm and the engines are too loud when pushed hard.
Even with this sporting intent, the 6 doesn’t live up to expectations. The steering is light but vague-feeling and the sleek, sporty roofline does encroach upon rear headroom quite a bit.
Should I add any options?
We’ve already added navigation to the SE-L trim – the infotainment system deserves the added functionality and will add to the value of the car when selling it on.
You’ll find the deal on autoebid.com, just select Mazda, then ‘New Mazda 6 Deals’, then find the 2.2d SE-L Nav saloon from the list of specs on offer.
