Mazda 767B Race Car Wrecks at Goodwood

One of Mazda’s classic race cars met an abrupt end at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 1989 767B was doing a timed lap of the famous Goodwood hill climb when it had an unfortunate meeting with protective hay bales and a wall. The driver appeared to be unharmed after the crash, though the same can’t be said for the car.

Mazda is the featured marque this year at Goodwood and it brought along quite a few classic race cars to show off. There are two 767Bs, a 787 and 787B, a 757, a Tige-Mazda GT286 and an RX7-GTO.

It’s never a good day when a classic race car is wrecked, but at least it went out in an honorable way.
