The Mazda B-Series pickup truck has been added to the list of vehicles affected by the massive Takata airbag recalls.
The Japanese automaker will recall all 2004-2006 model year B-Series trucks with Takata driver-side frontal airbag inflators. In the U.S., Puerto Rico and Saipan, there are a combined 19,000 vehicles or so affected by the recall. According to Mazda, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the recall.
The company previously recalled the 2007-2009 B-Series trucks with Takata passenger-side frontal airbag inflators.
In total, Mazda has recalled 442,266 vehicles with Takata driver’s frontal airbag inflators and 416,475 vehicles with passenger’s frontal airbag inflators. The affected vehicles from Mazda that have been recalled so far include the 2003-2008 Mazda6, 2004-2006 B-Series, 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6, 2004-2008 RX-8 and 2004 MPV.
Mazda will replace the driver’s side inflator on all affected vehicles and the automaker plans on notifying affected owners as soon as dealers have replacement parts.
