Teaser for Mazda CX-4 debuting at 2016 Beijing Auto Show
A single teaser shot has been released ahead of the CX-4’s world debut next month at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. Sales will start later this year meaning we’ll most likely see the vehicle arrive as a 2017 model.
The CX-4 was first hinted at by the Koeru concept car unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show. The confirmation of the CX-4 name also reveals that the vehicle will sit between the CX-3 and CX-5 models in Mazda’s high-riding portfolio.
Judging from spy shots, the CX-4 will be more closely related to the CX-5 with which it will share a platform. We’re expecting the same 8.8-foot wheelbase and engine offerings. This means the CX-4 should ship with either a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder good for 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque or a more potent 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with 184 hp and 185 lb-ft on tap.
The 2016 Beijing Auto Show starts April 25. While you wait for the opening day, you can learn about some of the other vehicles set to appear by visiting our dedicated hub.
