Mazda CX-5 2017 teaser pic
Mazda has issued a dimly lit teaser image of its upcoming CX-5 ahead of the car’s global debut at the LA Motor Show next month. Having arrived back in 2012, the current CX-5 is the oldest model in Mazda’s line-up but its set for a comprehensive refresh when the new model arrives.
The image of the all-new Mazda CX-5 SUV gives little away, but shows a gentle evolution of the current CX-5 formula. The VW Tiguan rival immediately appears to be longer and lower than the outgoing model, with a more aggressive angle to the roofline. An elongated bonnet, slim headlamps and more detailed surfacing can also be made out.

Mazda has said that it has taken the design of the new CX-5 to a ‘new level, honing the car’s beauty and imparting a formidable combination of sophistication and strength.’
No technical information has been released but Mazda has said it has ‘refined all aspects’ of the SUV to deliver ‘new dimensions of driving joy.’ It’s likely that Mazda will stick with current 2.0 SKYACTIV-G petrol engine, while the 2.2-litre diesel is also expected to remain in two states of tune.
Like on the current Mazda CX-5 model, front-wheel drive as well as all-wheel drive version of the CX-5 will be available.
