Scion prices 2016 iM, iA
Toyota’s Scion division has announced pricing details for its 2016 iA and iM, both of which are due to arrive in showrooms later this summer.
Scion’s first sedan, the iA, is the more affordable new model with a $16,495 price tag (including $795 freight) with a six-speed manual transmission, or $17,595 with an automatic gearbox.
Introduced earlier this year in New York, the iA is based on Mazda‘s next-generation Mazda2. It is powered by a 1.5-liter engine with 106 horsepower and EPA-estimated city/highway fuel-efficiency ratings of 33/42 mpg for the automatic and 31/41 mpg for the manual.
The iM commands a slightly higher price of $19,255 with a row-your-own gearbox or $19,995 for the CVTi-S model. The hatchback essentially serves as a Scion rebadge of Toyota’s Euro-spec Auris, adopting a more aggressive appearance inspired by the FR-S.
Both the iA and iM will be available to purchase on September 1.
