This is the first recorded crash of a new Mazda MX-5 generation image
And it happened just a few minutes after delivery, so talk about bad luck!
A proud owner of the new generation of the Mazda MX-5 has managed to crash his ride recently, just minutes after taking delivery of it. The model in question, finished in Soul Red, one of just 1,000 offered to the United States, has been involved in a crash, near Jacksonville, Florida, after being rear-ended by a Ford F-150 and pushed into the car in front of it. The owner and his wife have suffered some minor injuries but the vehicle was significantly damaged. It will be returned to its former glory after the insurance company will pay but it’s nothing more frustrating than knowing that it has been crashed with just a few miles on the odometer.
The 2016 Mazda MX-5 has a base starting price of 24,950 USD, over-seas. The model is coming with a single engine, the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV, which is capable of putting down a total of 155 HP (115 kW) and it has a peak torque of 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque, connected to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The roadster is getting features such as the LED headlights, the 17-inch alloy wheels with a bright finish, the Mazda Connect infotainment system, the Bose Audio system, heated leather seats, automatic climate control and more. The first examples of the new Mazda MX-5 generation have ended up in the United States just a few weeks back.
