UK customers can go for Mazda’s new Mazda3 Sport Black limited series image
The Mazda3 might be a little more enticing now in Great Britain after the Japanese automaker has added the 2016 Mazda3 Sport Black special edition version.
The fresh looks are being complemented by the standard powertrain – the Skyactiv-G 120 PS which has been linked to a six speed manual gearbox – and the model is set to reach dealerships on April 1. While other special editions are hard to understand, the Japanese take should be pretty simple. The asking price is of 20,995 British pounds and for that money the owner gets to choose between just two hues – Soul Red Metallic or Snowflake White Pearlescent. These shades are usually expensive and optional, but this time around they are free. The only engine available is the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G 120 which also adds 210 Nm – which is about the same as you would get from a 1.0 TSI from Volkswagen. But you should keep in mind the Mazdas are still a gentleman’s driver machines and the fun on the way to 62 mph (100 km/h) is almost priceless.
The 2016 Mazda3 Sport Black special edition also packs the Brilliant Black Sports Styling Kit: 18-inch Gunmetal alloy wheels, splitter, side skirts, rear bumper and roof spoiler addons. The cabin also gets treated to black half leather/ half suede seats, unique carpet mats, BOSE Surround-Sound System, a reversing camera, Smart keyless entry, cruise control and dual-zone climate control. The MZD-Connect system, with seven-inch color touchscreen display and Multimedia Commander also has navigation as a standard feature. Only 800 units will be manufactured, all exclusive to the UK market.
